They do not establish fiber percentages, inner-layer composition, absorbency, drying time, wash life, test results, certification, or universal pack quantity. Ask for a written layer map and evaluate the supplied sample against agreed criteria.
Turn a style into a purchase specification
For each candidate, record the style ID, intended diaper/pocket, declared composition by layer, total layers, finished length and width, measurement points and tolerance, edge or gusset construction, sample revision, and requested pieces per retail pack. Identify any required test method and acceptance limit rather than relying on a material name.
Sample checks before approval
- Match the sample label and supplier declaration to the requested style and revision.
- Measure length and width at agreed points; record actual values and deviations.
- Inspect face, reverse, edges, seams and gusset shape against the approved drawing or reference.
- If absorption or laundering matters, use a method, conditions and pass criteria agreed before testing; record observations without generalizing beyond that sample.
- Approve one signed/dated reference and list unresolved changes before bulk production.
